We are currently looking for an experienced Solution Architect that will focus on data/application integrations, master data management and system modernization. As a core member of the Enterprise Architecture team, your expertise and collaboration skills will help drive development of quality solutions and ensure alignment to strategic technology directions. Whether working alongside project team members as part of an Agile Release Train or helping to build patterns and reference architectures for technology standards, your contributions will help ensure Zions applications and solutions are built to deliver maximum business value.
The Solution Architect will:
- Understand business objectives, research potential strategies and technologies, architect, and design solutions.
- Contribute to business initiatives that introduce new applications or technologies.
- Own the planning, definition, integration, and high-level design of the solution and exploration of solution alternatives.
- Create architectural solution designs and conduct reviews to ensure solution is aligned with current and future state architecture standards, technologies, and principles.
- Promote informed vendor, product, and technology decisions and ensure that solutions meet operational requirements.
- Define and communicate a shared technical and architectural vision for an Agile Release Train (ART) to help ensure the system under development is fit for its intended purpose.
- Represent IT at project inception and assist in preparing project funding proposals.
- Assist Business Analysts and System Owners in defining technology and non-functional requirements and solutions.
- Focus on the consistency, completeness, interoperability, and quality of solutions.
- Advocate for simple, standard, centralized and automated solutions to business needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Technical Experience and Qualifications:
- Solid experience in enterprise application integration, integration patterns, and application integration standards.
- Experience with integration technologies that provide API management, messaging/streaming, file transfer, integration gateway, ETL, and/or complex integration techniques.
- Strong understanding of information architecture concepts that enable well-integrated transactional, analytical, and collaborative systems.
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering/science, Management Information Systems or similar.
- Minimum 6+ years experience creating and implementing architectural designs that include multiple/complex information systems. A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.
- Experience in guiding buy/build decisions, distributed systems, system design and development, cloud to ground application integration.
- Must have strong project management, organizational, time management, customer relationship, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication. Ability to communicate effectively with business leaders, ARTS, and technical experts at all organizational levels.
- Ability to listen for understanding, resolve conflicts, negotiate, compromise, and collaboratively lead business leaders and project teams to an optimal solution.
- Strong problem resolution, analysis and trouble shooting skills.
- Banking or other Financial Services experience is a plus.
Location:
This position has a hybrid work from home schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office at the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.
The Zions Technology Center is a 400,000-square-foot technology campus in Midvale, Utah. Located on the former Sharon Steel Mill superfund site, the sustainably built campus will be the company’s primary technology and operations center.
