Enterprise Wealth Management (EWM) is a dynamic and evolving business line under the Zions’ umbrella that is experiencing significant growth and innovation, which requires scalable operations with a top-notch client experience.  In addition, regulatory oversight in banking is becoming more complex. This requires consistent and proactive oversight of vendors and their technology to assess the strategic relationships and coordinate with internal partners in their review of controls to address the risks associated with vendors. 

We are currently seeking a Wealth Technology and Operations Manager within the EWM Team to manage operation functions. This position is located in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Description

The Wealth Technology and Operations Manager works closely with key executives and vendors to drive operational excellence and superior client experiences in onboarding, supporting and providing tangible deliverables to clients in an operational capacity for statements, performance and online as well as mobile viewing of their relationship. The Wealth Technology and Operations Manager provides business line oversight of vendor relationships and their technology in coordination with other experts in the organization.

Responsibilities:

The Wealth Technology and Operations Manager provides analytical skills, and innovative thinking necessary to carry out existing supervisory activities and monitoring as well as to identify opportunities to enhance and improve existing processes. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee all day-to-day operational activities that support the Wealth team’s ability to deliver a fantastic client experience.
  • Ensure all transaction processing follows internal procedures and compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain the business technology environment, working with enterprise IT and vendor partners as needed. 
  • Implement new technology solutions to improve efficiency throughout the organization.
  • Provide ongoing support, supervision, training, and development opportunities for team members, offering guidance and informing best practices to build comfort with the tools for enhanced end-user adoption.
  • Develop and maintain written standard operating procedures, how-to documents, and workflow diagrams.
  • Create internal and client-facing report packages, using portfolio accounting reports with data research from industry platforms.
  • Monitor and oversee third-party vendor performance as it relates to daily operations.
  • Ensure complete, accurate and timely delivery of management reports to key stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and technology providers.
  • Establish and report on Key Performance Indicators to track and manage success.
  • Perform the due diligence and oversight process of key vendor relationships, including contracts, risk assessments, transition strategies, business reviews, and business continuity.
  • Interact with business line partners regarding current processes to identify opportunities for enhancements, automation, and scalability.
  • Interface with company technology department to coordinate architecture surrounding client infrastructure and business line strategy.

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred or equivalent combination of training and experience with a minimum of 12+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Significant experience leading technical and operational teams.
  • Expert-level understanding of Investment Operations, Portfolio Accounting, and Performance Reporting.
  • Understanding of transaction processing as it pertains to mutual funds, ETFs, and fixed-income instruments.
  • Extensive project management experience
  • Analytical, well organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills required.
  • Strong managerial and change management skills.
  • Communicate complex information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Ability to learn as you go and think and problem-solve independently.
  • Good understanding of the profit and expense drivers in a wealth management organization
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently and with team members.
