Zions is accepting application for a Sr. Risk Officer to join our Enterprise Retail Banking – Risk Management department.

 

Enterprise Retail Banking – Risk Management supports centralized underwriting, product development, and operations functions. They act within the first line of defense to monitor, mitigate, and manage risks associated with credit, compliance, and operations. Senior members of the team consult with senior and executive leadership to develop pro-active risk mitigation strategies. They may also interact with external regulators.

 

Responsibilities:

 

The Senior Risk Officer role is responsible for 1st line management of internal credit exam, audit, and compliance engagements on behalf of all Enterprise Retail Banking (ERB) centers. They act as the primary risk coordinator for each center in conducting regular meetings to review engagement statuses and projects (excluding Loan Control Team results). They are responsible for control oversight and risk control self-assessments for all areas within in ERB; ensuring controls and their tests are designed effectively and adhere to bank standards, including process and regulatory compliance mapping.  Acts as a back-up for control testing and in conducting recurring key risk indicator (KRI) review meetings when assigned. 

 

 

Along with the Senior Risk Manager, the Senior Risk Officer is responsible for developing relationships with leaders across ERB in providing effective guidance to pro-actively mitigate and remediate risks, with an emphasis on Compliance risk. This includes best practice sharing, training development, procedural consultation, as well as developing relationships with 2nd and 3rd business partners and leadership.

 

Assigned projects are designed to further develop ERB risk management practices in alignment with bank standards.

 

Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Statistics, Math, Economics or related field and
  • 6+ years risk management, analysis, auditing or other directly related experience, preferably the financial services industry. 
  • A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.
  • Supervisory experience a plus. 
  • Expert knowledge of risk modeling, analysis and management techniques and practices. 
  • Knowledge of various bank/government regulatory requirements and processes.
  • Ability to work with employees and management. 
  • Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, organization and problem solving skills. 
  • Must be able to meet deadlines. 
  • Knowledge of department specific computer applications and software.

 

Pay Range:

  • $110,000.00- $120,000.00 (based upon location and relatable skills and experience)
