Senior Credit Examiner - Enterprise Retail Team - Denver or Midvale

The Credit Examination Department is responsible for protecting the interest of shareholders of Zions Bancorporation by identifying credit activities that present significant business risks. We are seeking a senior level examiner that will be responsible for planning and completing horizontal and targeted examinations and reviews of commercial and retail loan portfolios as well as assessing the effectiveness of enterprise-wide credit risk management systems and processes. This position requires experience employing risk-based examining techniques, including identifying, developing, and working through examination strategies. Candidates must have sound fundamental knowledge of credit administration processes along with a well-developed understanding of credit-related Federal Laws, Regulations, and regulatory guidance. This position requires the ability to organize, prioritize, and analyze large amounts of complex data in order to identify existing or emerging systemic weaknesses or concerns.
Candidates should possess:
- Extensive knowledge as a generalist or specialist of C&I, CRE, Residential and SBA lending products and applicable underwriting and risk management standards and guidelines,
- Experience evaluating and documenting credit process flows and controls,
- Ability to identify and assess the materiality of credit-related issues and other matters of concern,
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
- Proven track record of accomplishing defined project objectives in a timely manner, and
- History of effectively challenging senior level management to implement necessary policy, process, and/or control changes.
Education and Experience:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field
- 6+ years of credit analysis or credit examining experience.
- A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.
- Regulatory examining experience is a benefit, but not required for this position.
- Experience in Consumer Lending is preferred, but not required for this position.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications is required.
Travel:
Limited travel. Expectation is 1-2 weeks a year.
Compensation:
Base compensation for this position is expected to be $135,000 - $150,000 annually plus bonus depending on experience and location.

- Vectra Bank Corporate Headquarters, Denver, CO, or the Zions Bank Technology Center in Midvale, UT.
