Risk Officer – KRI Program Administrator – Salt Lake City, UT (Hybrid Schedule)

We are looking for a Risk Officer in a hybrid capacity. This role focuses on administering our Key Risk Indicator (KRI) program and our Enterprise Risk Profile (ERP) reporting and running our Risk Identification and Taxonomy and Scenario Analysis programs. This risk office sits within Enterprise Risk with exposure to all risks of the bank. Our Enterprise Risk Analytics department is hiring a new team member to oversee these responsibilities and work with the first line of defense. This role sits in the second line of defense and independently reviews Key Risk Indicators that get reported to senior and executive leadership, management committees, and the Board.
Responsibilities:
The Risk Officer builds relationships with team members and leadership of key oversight areas and provides routine review and challenge of governance, processes and controls surrounding daily operations, change management and new initiatives.
Responsibilities include administering our Key Risk Indicator (KRI) program and our Enterprise Risk Profile (ERP) reporting and running our Risk Identification and Taxonomy and Scenario Analysis programs.
Specific responsibilities include the following:
- Work with the First Line of Defense (1st LOD) assisting them with creating or updating Key Risk Indicators (KRI).
- Review and challenge submitted KRIs to ensure they are defined and documented correctly and request updates when they are not.
- Train key stakeholders on the KRI program and update reference documents and procedures.
- Assist the head or Enterprise Risk Analytics to administer the Enterprise Risk Profile and Operational Risk Profile reports to be updated and presented to Executives and Committees quarterly.
- Administer our annual Risk Identification survey and update our Risk Taxonomy from the results.
- Add new and update stale scenarios to the Scenario Analysis library.
- Use the approved scenarios to inform the operational loss model process.
- Communicate professionally and timely with the 1st LOD related to the risk programs in scope.
- Develop and deliver periodic risk reports and analyses to senior and executive management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree
- 6+ years of risk management, auditing, compliance, legal/regulatory, finance or other directly related experience.
- Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, problem resolution, attention to detail, and analytical skills required.
- Must have excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbally and written.
- Ability to effectively build relationships, work on cross-departmental teams and engage with senior and executive management.
- Experience working with banking applications, processes, procedures, and controls.
- A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.
