Zions Bancorporation is one of the nation’s premier financial services companies operating as a collection of great banks under local brands and management teams in high-growth western markets.  Our customers consistently vote us as the best bank in our local markets. We value our employees, and we are committed to search out, recognize and create fulfilling opportunities for outstanding people within our organization, rewarding them for their contributions to our success. We recognize that banking is a “local” business, and that to be successful, we must have very strong ties to the communities we serve and strong relationships with our customers.

With benefits starting on day one, 12 bank holidays, profit sharing and company-matched 401(k) contributions, Zions is dedicated to being an employer of choice in our communities. At Zions, the possibilities are endless. You bring the talent; we bring the opportunity.

We are seeking an accomplished and highly respected leader to serve as Manager, Corporate Crisis Management within the Office of Enterprise Business Resilience at Zions Bancorporation. This role leads the enterprise crisis management capability and is responsible for ensuring the organization can effectively anticipate, respond to, and recover from real world disruptive events.

This is a crucial role that sits at the center of the organization’s crisis response and recovery efforts during active incidents, supporting senior and executive leadership through high stakes situations that require speed, clarity, and sound judgment. Operating at the intersection of operational resilience, risk management, and executive decision making, this role is critical to how the organization performs when it matters most.

You’ll own and advance the Corporate Crisis and Critical Incident Management (CCIM) program end to end - leading crisis response coordination, facilitating executive decision making, and building a scalable command and control framework aligned to enterprise resilience objectives. You’ll drive continuous improvement through training, scenario-driven exercises, and after action insights, while ensuring crisis management is fully integrated with Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Supplier Resilience capabilities.

The ideal candidate thrives in high pressure environments and brings proven experience leading or supporting real world crisis response. You are a calm, decisive leader with exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage, guide, and influence executive stakeholders through complex, high-stress events with evolving and uncertain outcomes. You combine strategic thinking with operational discipline, translating complex risk scenarios into clear, actionable decisions.

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a high impact, enterprise-wide capability and shape how a major financial institution responds to crises. In today’s dynamic risk environment, organizations are defined not only by how they perform under normal conditions, but by how they respond in critical moments. You’ll be at the forefront of those efforts, helping protect our people, our operations, and the trust we’ve built with customers, communities, and regulators.

If you are a strategic thinker, a capable program leader, a strong operator under pressure, and someone who is motivated by leading through critical moments (not only planning for them) then we would invite you to apply today!

The successful candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills to effectively translate recovery priorities into action-oriented plans, programs, and testing strategies. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strategic thinking, exceptional facilitation and coordination skills, with the ability to effectively align crisis management activities with those of the broader Enterprise Business Resilience program.

This is an opportunity to drive the strategic direction of crisis management program across Zions Bancorporation, collaborating cross-functionally to deliver an effective command and control framework that helps secure the continued success of the organization. If you possess a strategic mindset, a passion for leading teams during high-stakes situations, and a commitment to safeguarding our institution's reputation and stability, we invite you to apply and be a catalyst for resilience in the face of adversity.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead enterprise crisis response during active events, coordinating cross-functional teams and supporting executive leadership with real-time decision-making and situational awareness
  • Design and implement a comprehensive crisis management framework, including plans, playbooks, and protocols that are adaptable to evolving threats
  • Serve as the central coordination authority during incidents, ensuring alignment across business units, IT, communications, legal, HR, and other key stakeholders
  • Develop and deliver a robust training and exercise program, including tabletop exercises and scenario-based simulations that build confidence and capability under pressure
  • Conduct risk assessments and threat analysis to identify potential crisis drivers and strengthen organizational preparedness
  • Drive real-time situational awareness, integrating data, intelligence, and operational inputs to inform leadership decisions
  • Partner with Corporate Communications to ensure clear, accurate, and timely messaging during crisis situations
  • Lead after-action reviews, translating insights into measurable improvements in processes, tools, and readiness
  • Deliver executive-level reporting on program maturity, risk posture, and incident performance
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory expectations and industry best practices related to crisis management and operational resilience

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Communications, or related field.
  • Proven experience with 6 years in crisis management leadership, business continuity, emergency and incident and crisis planning and response.
  • Extensive knowledge of crisis management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment, analysis, and mitigation strategies.
  • Expert analytical, leadership, organizational, communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and confidently.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a proven track record of guiding cross-functional teams during crisis events.
  • Proficient in stakeholder management and maintaining positive relationships with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing crisis communications and coordinating with media relations during high-stress situations.
