We are seeking an insight‑driven Human Resources Business Partner to join Zions Bancorporation. In this role, you will serve as a high‑impact advisor to business leaders, shaping people‑related decisions that strengthen performance and elevate organizational effectiveness. You will partner closely with leaders to support a complex business portfolio, providing consultative, enterprise‑minded (shows understanding of broader business priorities).
As an HR Business Partner, you will navigate and lead through periods of organizational alignment—ensuring operational stability while driving key HR initiatives forward. You will manage complex, sensitive, and challenging employee relations matters, and offer expert counsel on HR processes, policies, and compliance. You will also leverage data analysis and workforce insights to support informed decision‑making, identify trends, and proactively address organizational needs.
You will also play a pivotal role in supporting talent review, succession planning, and compensation review, while ensuring the consistent delivery of high‑quality HR practices. Strong relationship management is essential, enabling effective partnerships with business leaders and HR colleagues to build trust and influence decisions that strengthen organizational performance.
This role is ideal for experienced HR professionals who are business‑savvy and who excel in environments where their expertise directly influences critical thinking, problem‑solving, and the overall employee and leader experience.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary HR contact for assigned business units, supporting a diverse employee population.
- Manage complex employee relations matters, including performance issues, FMLA, ADA, and conflict resolution across multiple states.
- Lead and support organizational change initiatives, including department integration and alignment projects.
- Provide guidance on HR processes, procedures, and compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Conduct talent reviews and assist with compensation analysis.
- Champion HR programs and initiatives, ensuring effective implementation and adoption.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise effective judgment in handling sensitive information.
- Supervise or provide guidance to lower-level HR staff as needed.
- Foster healthy working relationships and promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
- Multi-task across multiple HR disciplines and adapt to changing priorities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in employee relations, retention, HR processes and procedures, unemployment, workers compensation, FMLA, ADA, and compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Experience managing complex employee relations matters.
- Experience with FMLA and ADA across multiple states.
- Experience with talent review.
- Experience with organizational alignment and group re-organization.
- Familiarity with compensation analysis preferred.
- Working knowledge of HR practices, principles, applications, methods, and laws.
- Strong MS Office and HRIS skills.
- Excellent presentation, conflict resolution, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Strong customer service, influence, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships and work with highly confidential information daily.
- Ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, and creativity to changing needs and situations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field required.

This position is 5 days in-office at our downtown headquarters.
Located in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, the Zions Bank Building serves as the headquarters of both Zions Bancorporation and Zions Bank.
