We are currently seeking a Consumer Loan Bankruptcy Manager to join our team located in-office in Midvale, UT. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

 

 

·       Manage the bankruptcy processing function and ensure any consumer loans involved in bankruptcy filings are updated and maintained in the loan source systems and in accordance with bankruptcy laws and corporate policies.

·       Ensure bankruptcy coding is correct and adequate to ensure all active bankrupt accounts are adequately monitored, maintained, and Trustee disbursements are appropriately applied.

·       Monitor bankruptcies by ensuring third-party bankruptcy data is accurate and bank systems are updated upon notice of bankruptcy filing, ensure future communication with borrowers does not violate the bankruptcy code, and file a Proof of Claim when appropriate.

·       Negotiate chapter 7 reaffirmation and chapter 13 plans through confirmation.

·       Re-set loan systems to match new terms as ordered by the court.

·       Ensure bankruptcy processes and procedures are adhered to.

·       File necessary documentation with Bankruptcy Trustees or Bankruptcy Courts.  

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications:

 

·       Requires a college degree and 4+ years of experience in consumer lending, collections compliance, consumer regulations, bankruptcy filings and law or other directly related field.

o   A combination of education and work experience in the field of bankruptcy may meet requirements.

·       Strong working knowledge of bankruptcy compliance and law, loan processing across multiple loan systems.

·       Must possess intuitive and analytical abilities.

·       Ability to effectively communicate with legal counsel; in-house counsel, hired counsel, and client counsel.

·       Solid knowledge of the following: Proof of Claim, Reaffirmation, Motion for Lift of Stay, Trustee Disbursements, and Correcting Accounting Treatment for Disbursements Received.

·       Strong organizational, customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.

·       Ability to audit documents, complete processes, meet deadlines, and work with department management and staff.

·       Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make recommendations in the Bankruptcy space.

·       Some leadership or supervisory experience is required.
