The platform currently has teams of experienced professionals operating from offices in Salt Lake City, Houston, Los Angeles, Charlotte, Dallas, Ft. Lauderdale, and Orange County.
We are currently seeking an Associate within the Syndicated and Leveraged Finance Group to join our team in Los Angeles (El Segundo), California.
Essential Functions
- Assist senior members of the Syndicated and Leveraged Finance Group with all aspects of originating and executing debt capital raising transactions for syndicated financings.
- Draft pitch books for prospective and existing bank clients, outlining Zions Capital Markets’ capabilities and proposing tailored debt solutions.
- Prepare confidential information memoranda and lender presentations, including detailed analysis of the client’s business, industry, and financial outlook.
- Build and maintain financial models related to transaction execution, including cash flow forecasting and covenant modeling/testing based on client and bank assumptions.
- Support the preparation and negotiation of legal documentation, including fee letters, non-disclosure agreements, term sheets, mandate letters, commitment letters, and credit agreements.
- Review recent transactions and assist in developing market comparables; support senior team members in identifying potential investors.
- Prepare and review internal memoranda required to support syndicated transactions (e.g., syndication opinions, fee accounting, and credit presentations).
- Maintain relationships with investors and manage an internal database of participating financial institutions.
- Attend off-site meetings with borrowers and third-party lenders, and coordinate follow-up activities (e.g., documenting lender feedback and tracking market data).
- Support the development, oversight, and training of junior staff.
- Travel may be required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, or a related field, plus 4+ years of relevant experience (a combination of education and experience may be considered).
- Prior experience in Investment Banking, Private Credit, or Commercial Banking is required.
- Demonstrated track record of strong academic achievement; MBA, CFA, and/or formal credit training is a plus.
- Must obtain required FINRA licenses (Series 79 [or grandfathered Series 7] and Series 63), if not currently active, within 90 days of employment.
Compensation
This position is eligible for a base salary ranging from $117,000 to $150,000 annually, depending on job-related factors such as experience and qualifications.
In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on individual, team, and overall bank performance. Final compensation will vary based on factors including experience, expertise, and location.
