We are currently hiring a Senior Director, Strategic Finance in our downtown Salt Lake City, UT location.
Description:
- Directs financial planning and analysis supporting the bank’s corporate strategy.
- Manages centralized staff in the execution of these duties, while supporting segment and affiliate executives in setting business direction.
- Provides counsel to both function and business line management on fiscal control and profitability.
- Actively monitors and reports on bank, affiliate, and segment financial condition, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Monitor and analyze industry trends, financial markets and regulatory developments to identify potential risks and opportunities for the bank.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between strategic initiatives and investor expectations.
- Work with executive management to formulate and implement the bank's strategic plan in alignment with organizational goals and market trends.
- Conduct thorough market analysis, competitor assessments and risk evaluations to identify opportunities and challenges.
- Monitor and report on the progress of strategic projects, adjusting plans as needed to address evolving market conditions.
- Oversee the development and coordination of financial models, feasibility studies and business cases to support strategic decision-making.
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry developments, advising leadership on potential impacts and opportunities.
- Presents recommendations and strategies to multiple levels of the organization.
- Responsible to hire, fire and conduct performance reviews for staff as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field; MBA, CPA or CFA preferred and 15+ years of developing and implementing enterprise strategic initiatives, finance, financial modeling, analysis, business line experience, programs/projects, delivering results or other directly related experience.
- Managerial and leadership experience required. A combination of education and experience may meet requirements. Related system, operational and project management experience highly preferred.
- Requires an in-depth knowledge of strategic initiative processes, procedures, enterprise business line operations, financial markets, regulatory environment including SEC regulations and industry dynamics, processes and procedures.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial information.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft clear and compelling messaging for different audiences.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of successfully leading complex initiatives.
- Requires an in-depth knowledge of financial strategy, risk management techniques and practices, management accounting, funds transfer pricing, and bank profitability metrics.
- Expert knowledge of financial planning and bank regulatory requirements and processes.
- Expert working knowledge of financial math, statistics, department specific computer applications and software.
- Applies highly advanced concepts in decision-making and problem-solving activities.
- Strategic mindset with a focus on long-term organizational goals.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, analysis and presentation tools.
- Excellent change management and problem-solving skills.
- Critical thinking and writing skills a must.
- Exceptional project and time-management skills.
