We are currently seeking an Internal Controls Automation Developer to help grow and mature our first line of defense information technology (IT) control testing function and act as a trusted partner to technology/cybersecurity management in helping them assess and improve their controls. This role plays a critical part in evaluating the effectiveness of the Company’s control environment.
To be successful as the Internal Controls Automation Developer, it is important that you are able to design, implement, and maintain automated solutions that support internal control testing and compliance initiatives. This role will support management of controls through automated solutions ensuring that control systems are efficient, scalable, and aligned with regulatory standards from a technology and operational risk perspective. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, monitoring and enhance automated workflows and scripts to support internal control testing and monitoring.
- Build and maintain automation for evidence collection, control validation, and reporting.
- Integrate automation solutions with IT Service Management (ITSM) and Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) platforms and other enterprise applications.
- Collaborate with independent risk management and compliance teams to understand control requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Support third-party vendor engagements related to control testing automation by holding status meetings, ensuring governance over Bots and usage of APIs.
- Utilize tools to build automated reporting of control testing metrices and time bound notifications from the enterprise GRC system.
- Support the implementation of control frameworks such as NIST, COSO, SOX, and COBIT through automation.
- Assist in identifying control gaps and opportunities for automation.
- Generate reports on control performance, deficiencies, and remediation efforts.
- Contribute to risk mitigation strategies through technology-driven solutions.
- Document automation logic, control mappings, and system configurations for audit readiness.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in automation development, internal controls, or risk management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, JavaScript) and automation platforms (e.g., UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere).
- Familiarity with internal control frameworks (NIST, COBIT, COSO, SOX), compliance standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Experience with IT Service Management, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and GRC tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Location:
This position is fully in office (5 days a week) at the Zions Technology Center – 7860 South Bingham Junction Blvd, Midvale, UT 84047.
