ZiFi is a digital-first small business bank operating across the Midwest and East Coast with no physical branches. Our relationship managers, whom we call ZiFi Business Bankers, are the driving human connection behind our digital platform.
ZiFi is currently looking for a ZiFi Business Banker (Digital Relationship Manager). This role is a high-volume, results-driven production role. This person will spend 80% of their time operating the bank (converting leads, gathering paperwork, and packaging deposits, loans, and merchant services) and 20% of their time helping us build (translating client feedback into product requirements, and refining risk and operational workflows as we prepare to scale next year).
A Day in the Life: High-Volume Operational Production
This banker is an active producer who manages a high-velocity digital pipeline. Here is exactly what their day looks like:
- 80% Operational Production (Run the Bank)
- Calling on Leads: Actively reaching out to warm digital leads (including partner referrals like Lendio) to introduce them to ZiFi and initiate the relationship.
- Making Small Businesses "Bankable": Serving as a trusted consultant to walk business owners through what it takes to successfully obtain bank products.
- Packaging Deposits, Loans, and Merchant Services: Hands-on packaging of all applications. This means gathering documentation for business deposit accounts, structuring SBA 7(a) loan files, and setting up merchant card processing applications.
- Chasing Paperwork (Supporting Ops): Working directly with Credit and Operations to contact clients, track down missing tax forms, entity documents, and signature cards, and resolve onboarding exceptions.
- Revenue & Portfolio Preservation: Actively managing an assigned portfolio of business clients to drive utilization, cross-sell services, prevent attrition, and protect bank revenue.
- 20% Process Innovation & Product Definition (Build the Bank)
- Defining Product Requirements: Actively capturing client pain points and feature gaps, translating frontline client feedback into clear, actionable new product requirements to improve and expand our Online Banking and Digital Account Onboarding platforms.
- Frontline Feedback Loop: Working directly with team to help define, test, and establish our brand-new operational workflows.
- Streamlining Process: Provide input as we design and optimize automated tools so we can start scaling the business rapidly next year.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- 1+ year in banking with one or more of these areas of focus: SBA loans, Deposit Account Opening, Merchant Services (payments).
- Small business banking focus.
- Sales experience is preferred.
- SBA Lending experience is preferred.
- A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Production Mindset: A fast-paced "doer" who thrives under activity metrics, pipeline pressure, and quick turnaround times.
- The "Triple Threat" Package: Direct experience packaging and processing business deposit accounts, SBA 7(a) loans, and merchant services.
- Operational Grit: Someone who is excited to roll up their sleeves, wear many hats in a small team, chase down paperwork, and handle operational checklist items.
- Voice of the Customer: Able to synthesize customer conversations and operational friction into structured technical requirements for our engineering and product teams.
- Adaptable & Resilient: Comfortable with change, high-growth startup dynamics, and executing tasks in an environment with many unknowns.
