Zions Bancorporation is accepting applications for our A/R Factoring Specialist to join our Houston team.

The Factoring department specializes in the financial service of factoring to enable companies to obtain working capital and help them grow, provide employment, and strong members of their communities.  The department assesses the creditworthiness of the businesses' customers, determining the potential risks and benefits associated with purchasing the receivables. Through these services, the factoring lender department plays a crucial role in supporting business liquidity, fostering growth, and enhancing overall financial stability.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for payment processing and/or chargeback functions which may include; payment evaluation and disbursement of reserves, payment application review, accuracy, invoice reviews, chargebacks, approving release of reserves and funding of reserves. 
  • Handles documents and reports exceptions.
  • Process exception items off of reconciliation report daily. 
  • Responsible for ensuring the correct execution of the client contract and for processing & reconciling of various automatic/manual transactions appear on client statements and reports. 
  • Reviews, analyzes and determines the legitimacy and accuracy of customer's data.  
  • Review and process daily fund transfers for collected fund and maturity clients. 
  • Post journal entries to client accounts for interest, fees and make various adjustments in accordance to client contract. 
  • Perform set up and ongoing maintenance of client files and banking instruction, as well as make changes related to contract amendments so to ensure correct interest, fees, charges and collateral balances are reflected in client accounts. 
  • Maintain and reconcile A/R collateral balances clients, post and prepare maturity payments. 
  • Provides clients and internal customers with information on all aspects of factoring transactions. 
  • Ensure that the cash receipts applied are also matched with the correct transactions within the Factor's system. 
  • Identifies outstanding invoices.
  • Verifies all non factored payments have been applied properly.
  • Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Requires High School diploma or equivalent   
  • 2+ years experience A/R factoring, banking operations, policy, procedures, regulations, invoice payment and processing, accounts receivable and inventory collateral or other directly related experience.  
  • A combination of education and experience may meet requirements. 
  • A college degree preferred. 
  • Proficient knowledge of A/R factoring, bank operations, ABL loan documentation and basic accounting processes and procedures. 
  • Proficient knowledge of A/R factoring procedures, practices and systems. 
  • Strong problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Ability to examine and reconcile data to resolve issues.  
  • Working level mathematical skills including multi-step calculations using Microsoft Excel. 
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. 
  • Strong customer service skills; ability to deal with internal and external customers. 
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. 
  • Advanced working knowledge of computer software including; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access.
