We are looking for a seasoned Underwriter/Portfolio Manager to join our Corporate Health Care & Not for Profit Lending team in Texas.  Preferably, the candidate would be in Houston but open to Dallas or San Antonio as a possible location. This role will focus on underwriting, managing and servicing loan portfolios, spreading and analyzing financial statements, and identifying industry risks.

 

The ideal candidate will have the skills and experience necessary to:

  • Experience in Healthcare, CRE or Not for Profit is ideal but not required
  • Manage and service a portfolio of loan relationships.
  • Spread and analyze financial statements, addressing industry risks and mitigants, collateral requirements, loan structuring and pricing, credit analysis including validation of various underwriting models, policy exception identification and monitoring credit performance.
  • Underwrite credit presentations for new commitments, modifications and renewals
  • Responsible for risk rating assessment and periodic relationship reviews.
  • Responsible for covenant management and validating covenant compliance.
  • Report on portfolio quality related to past dues, documentation and collateral exceptions, financial performance updates, portfolio profitability, etc.
  • Work with team members through the due diligence process on various transactions.
  • Review loan documentation to ensure credit and regulatory compliance
  • Expand, build, and maintain client relationships, providing the highest level of customer service.
  • Cross sell other bank products.
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in General Business, Finance, Accounting, Commercial Banking or equivalent/relevant program and 5+ years’ directly related experience preferred.
  • Strong writing, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Excel, and Word to produce reports, memos, and loan presentations.
  • Moderate knowledge of credit analysis; spreading and analyzing financial statements; credit scoring; loan documentation.
  • Experience with bank loan and deposit systems preferred, not required.
