We are seeking a creative and strategic Social Media Specialist (Communications Officer) to join our marketing team. This role involves managing, optimizing, and enhancing Amegy’s online social media presence, social media content, blog content, and content calendar with an understanding of banking compliance regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize Amegy Bank's online social media presence to increase brand awareness and engagement.
  • Create and oversee social media and blog content, including managing the editorial calendar and collaborating with the advertising agency team to drive strategic and tactical direction for social media and the Amegy Insider blog.
  • Create, curate, and manage published content (images, videos, written content and audio/podcast) across all social media platforms.
  • Collaborate with other departments and employees to create content and campaigns that serve business line objectives.
  • Amplify public relations, marketing campaigns, community outreach, and sponsorships on all social media channels. Align social media efforts with overall marketing goals.
  • Monitor, listen and respond to users in a social way while helping to cultivate leads and sales.  Become an advocate for the bank in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answer questions when appropriate.
  • Manage the budget for social media tools and paid content promotion.
  • Ensure proper messaging, adherence to compliance/legal regulations, and best practices are executed online and are relevant to organizational goals.
  • Monitor and track social media activities by competitors, assess implications and trends, and integrate key learnings into social media strategy.
  • Set key performance indicators (KPIs) for social media campaigns, such as targets for a certain number of shares or likes and measuring a campaign’s performance against the KPIs. Prepare regular reports on engagement and social site statistics for management.
  • Act as the voice for Amegy Bank in addressing customer questions and concerns via social media. Monitor all social channels for customer inquiries, comments, and feedback, and respond promptly.
  • Optimize social/web content for SEO best practices.
  • Engage with bank partners and influencers and build partnerships to expand the bank's reach.
  • Manage and grow the social media brand ambassador program.
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
  • At least three years of professional social media marketing experience and four years of professional copywriting experience, including advertising and brand marketing. A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.
  • Excellent storytelling abilities to engage and connect with audiences.
  • Proficient research skills to keep content accurate and relevant.
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience creating and managing company profiles on social media sites.
  • Experience with social media listening tools, such as Reputation and Hootsuite.
  • Financial industry and corporate environment experience preferred.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
  • Strong knowledge of key social media sites, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Understanding how design, layout, and photography/video work with copy in producing effective communications.  Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud skills are necessary.
  • Highly organized, results-oriented, and able to take initiative with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong computer, software, and technology skills.
  • Functions as the online search expert able to track and monitor postings relevant to the brand.
  • Must be a collaborative team player able to integrate with a diverse team.
