We are seeking an Accounting Manager within Operational Accounting, part of the Enterprise Accounting department, which is closely aligned within the Enterprise Finance division. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with talented professionals in an environment where your insights are valued and your contributions make a meaningful impact.

 

The Accounting Operations team manages enterprise-wide expense reporting in a completely paperless environment, processing over 2,000 reports each month. The team also administers and accounts for the corporate card program, supporting more than 3,000 employee cardholders. Additional responsibilities include accounting and reconciliation for vendor payments made via credit card, as well as managing sales and use tax self-assessments and filings across the organization.

 

As an Accounting Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing these functions. Through innovative thinking and process improvements, you will help drive efficiency and effectiveness, contributing to the continued success and evolution of the department.

 

Ideal candidates will have the skills and experience necessary to:

 

  • Responsible for coordinating and managing the general accounting function, concerning primarily the expense report process, corporate card administration, and other payables related processes.
  • Responsible for overseeing monthly bank reconciliations, monthly journal entries.
  • Manage and maintain general ledger accounts by monitoring journal entry preparation; preparing monthly accruals and entries and reconciling accounts monthly.
  • Oversee sales/use tax calculations, payments, returns and accounting.
  • Ensures general ledger accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis.
  • Review reconciliations to ensure they are prepared properly and follow-up on any unusual items.
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Perform and assist with internal and external audits.
  • Assists and directs other business units with accounting policies and procedures.
  • May handle budget preparation and analysis.
  • May participate in the most complex general accounting projects.
  • Responsible for the direct supervision of the general accounting staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualification:

 

  • Requires advanced knowledge of general accounting including reconciliations, general ledgers, payables, corporate card programs, etc.
  • Strong analysis, problem resolution and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Must be detail oriented, able to multi-task and prioritize time to complete projects.
  • Must be flexible and able to handle change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong sense of urgency and efficiency.
  • Ability to develop and manage people.
  • Applies advanced principles, theories and concepts.
  • Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts

 

Education:

 

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or related field
  • 4+ years’ experience in accounting and/or finance
  • Some supervisory or managerial experience required. A combination of education and experience may meet job requirements.
